A “Wolds” kitchen is designed for life using traditional construction techniques such as mortice and tenon joints and dovetailed drawers. Wolds bespoke kitchens are produced “in house” by our own team of very skilled and long serving craftsmen at our factory in Hull.
We use only top-quality timber sourced from properly managed and sustainable forests. Even our kitchen carcasses are made from solid pine (no veneers or chipboard).
Because we make everything “in house” we will build your kitchen exactly to size. Whilst we obviously work to as many standard sizes as possible, we can also make units exactly to size. Therefore, if you have a space of 465mm we will build a cabinet to 465mm (not a standard 400mm cabinet + a blank fillet of 65mm). We will design your kitchen around your specific requirements and will never build a kitchen that doesn’t reflect the best use of available space.
Wolds Kitchen Design Service
Before we undertake any work relating to the design of your proposed kitchen, we prefer that you make an appointment to visit us at our showroom in Market Weighton, in between York and Hull. That way we can show you first-hand the quality of our product and the many options available. We will also be able to provide you with an idea of our price point so that you can be sure that it falls within your budget
We do this because, as a relatively small but very bespoke manufacturer, we have to be careful not overstretch our design capacity and for that reason we generally don’t look to work on projects unless your kitchen is going to be required within the next four months or so.
During your visit we will run through what we call a “specification list”. This is basically a “wish list” of everything you would like to include in your new kitchen. It takes about 30 minutes to complete and is the starting point of us designing and delivering the kitchen you are looking for. If you can bring any plans and/or ideas to the initial meeting that’s a big help.
Once a basic design is approved, we will visit your home to take precise measurements. We also commit to work closely with any builders, plumbers and electricians you have appointed to coordinate the various aspects relating to the installation of your new kitchen. Dependent upon the size and nature of your project we can also offer a “fully managed” service, where we undertake most aspects of the project – ranging from building work to taking your old kitchen out to actually fitting and connecting your new kitchen. This can also be discussed during the initial meeting.
The more information you can provide the easier it will be for us present you with a design that meets with your aspirations. As a small family business, you will find us very easy to deal with and at every stage of the project you or your contractors will have direct access to both myself and our joiners.
